We play Irish American Pub Music in Richmond, Virginia, USA.
Uisce Beatha (ish keh ba ha) is a Gaelic term. Transliterated, it means " Water of Life," but in usage it means a distilled liquor, indigenous to the Celtic nations of Ireland and Scotland. The English mispronunciation, "whiskey" is more familiar to most. It is also one of the most popular names for Irish music bands. The one with which this site is concerned is a Richmond, Virginia group of dilettantes, playing playing a broad mix of songs and tunes that we like to call "Irish American Pub Music."
Irish American Pub Music (IAPM)
You know, everywhere you ever go, there always seems to be an Irish Pub. We're not saying they are all the same, but they all (at least the good ones) share some fundamental characteristics. One of these characteristics is the music you hear. It blends classic and new Irish ballads and songs with the local musical tradition. In America this includes folk, country, rock, and even rap.
